My Weekend Zombie Encounter

M. and I received a gift card for a local restaurant and the movie theater at his very belated office Christmas party. So yesterday we went out and used them. We had a lovely lunch at the restaurant where the waitress shared my name and was attentive, but not too attentive, and was pleasant. She got a nice tip – in cash. Something we rarely do. We also saw the movie Taken starring Liam Neeson. M. saw Bourne qualities in the film, which I did not see, but we both enjoyed it.

In between lunch and the movie we made a stop at Circuit City. M. is bummed they went belly up and are closing, but he didn’t give up hope that they might have a Rock Band 2 wireless guitar in stock and at a severely discounted price. We had been to the store twice since the closing was announced, but prices were hardly slashed, so M. resisted the guitar purchase. Yesterday the store was a product wasteland. Whole aisles were blocked off with yellow caution tape because they were completely empty. The store seemed packed with more people than discounted items. And the people, oh the people! The closing of the store seemed to have some horrific effect on them. Many were wandering aimlessly, eyes unfocused, paying no heed to what they were doing, grabbing at things. It was my ultimate horror: a place packed with people, hot, people actually touching me. Going out of business zombies! My anxious level was definitely high, high, high. But M. searched that store all over looking for a decent deal, if not on his guitar, then something. But there was nothing. No good deals and no Rock Band 2 wireless guitars.

All Circuit City has become is a steamy hell of unfulfilled discount promises and people rendered zombies by the 25-50% off signs. Icky!

LOL, nice details! I think this the sign in the picture could be placed outside Circuit City.
